A raga is one of the melodic modes popular in South Asian music and, in the simplest of terms, a raga can be described as a tonal framework for music composition and improvisation. In the Indian musical tradition, ragas are associated with different times of the day, or with seasons, and on this afternoon at MPavilion we present an exquisite performance of afternoon ragas by the internationally acclaimed duo of Adrian McNeil and Bobby Singh. Through the sublime sound of the 25 string sarod performed by Adrian and the compelling rhythms of the tabla by Bobby, these two virtuosos bring you a rich musical feast of Hindustani music.
