MMeets Assemblage: A Workshop
2016-12-17 2016-12-17 Australia/Melbourne Assemblage: A Workshop MPavilion MPAVILIONEmerging writers, artists, poets and architectural enthusiasts alike are invited to join the team from Assemble Papers and three special guests for an immersive two-hour workshop designed to provide the tools to write about and better express interpretations of the built environment. This is for the architecturally inclined but not necessarily trained; for people who love language but sometimes struggle to find the words to describe the world around them.
Featuring creative writer Amanda Maxwell, certified word-nerd Penny Modra (The Good Copy) and poet and architect Dr Alex Selenitsch, this gathering takes its cues from MPavilion’s evocative architecture and the surrounding Queen Victoria Gardens. Participants will hear solid-gold tips from each mentor and will complete three short tasks to put each tip to the test. At the end of the workshop, Assemble Papers will collect participants’ responses to each task and collate the material into a mini-publication to be shared online before the conclusion of the 2016/17 MPavilion season.
